Rules

  1. We will use a slightly modified 0-sum DKP system for each high-level raid instance. Note: Each 25-man instance will have a separate DKP pool.
  2. Players may be forced to take loot, as directed by Class Leaders and the Guildmaster, to prevent dkp hording and to benefit the raid. Class sets will generally be expected to be taken.
  3. In the event a Bind on Pickup item which is covered by DKP is not bid on, it will be disenchanted. The shard or dust will be distributed with the other non-dkp loot at the end of the raid.
  4. Some unique/abnormal loot (such as the BWL class trinkets) may be distributed on a class rotation, separate from DKP. This is to prevent disenchanting of items that while useful offer no direct benefit to the raid. These items will be decided upon by the GM and Class Leaders in advance or at the time of the drop.
  5. In the event a Bind on Equip item is not bid on, it will be given to a banker character.
  6. DKP spent or earned will not be changed retroactively. Note: If an item is altered by Blizzard, DKP will not be refunded or deducted even if we determine the item should be worth less/more DKP now.
  7. DKP expenditures take effect immediately. The DKP website will not be updated until after the raid.
  8. Items will be distributed by value, starting with class sets and/or the most valuable.
  9. Resist gear or otherwise specialized gear will receive a discount of 50% to 100%.
  10. DKP will be awarded for learning an encounter (5 per attempt). DKP will not be awarded for wipes, after we have downed a boss. Additionally, the DKP awarded for being present for a first kill will be double.

Trash Loot Rules

  1. Trash loot is anything not covered by DKP.
  2. Trash loot will be distributed at the end of the instance, immediately following any BoE DKP items.
  3. Everyone can roll on trash loot, even if you've spent DKP.
  4. Everyone rolls /random 100 and loots is distributed from highest to lowest. The item awarded is at the player's choosing.
Note: If a member of the raid has serious need for an item won by another member of the raid, they should come up with a reasonable exchange (discounted price, goods, services, etc.).
  5. Recipes or equipable world drops, can only go to a main in attendance that can use the item (including having the appropriate trade skill for recipes).

Category 1 - 140 DKP Necklaces, Rings, Bracers, Trinkets, and Cloaks

Category 3 - 350

Loot Priority

There are two levels of loot priority within Maladomini.

Priority based on rank:
  1. Veteran Raiders and Reserves
  2. Companions
  3. Alts

Priority based on stats/functionality and the class:

Players will only be able to acquire a single set piece token unless every member of the raid eligible for a given set piece token already has said token (plan ahead and get the set that matches the role you will primarily play, you can get your secondary set, whether that's DPS, healing, or whatever at a much later time, but never count on getting it).

Most of this priority is based on common sense. Having excess DKP does not mean you can take gear that's better for another class. The below are rough guidelines.

Melee/Ranged Damage (high DPS, str, agi, crit, attack power, etc)
DPS Warriors, Rogues, Hunters, Enhancement Shaman, and Feral Druids will get most of this gear, and the gear subdivides further. High DPS ranged weapons are obviously a priority for hunters. High strength leather gear is for feral druids. Common sense will guide this, if a dispute ever arises, the raid leader (based on conversations with present class leaders) will make the final say.

Tanking Stats (Def, Stam, Block, Parry, Dodge, Armor, etc)
Warriors, feral druids, and protection paladins. Warriors will have priority on plate items over paladins. Druids would obviously have priority on leather and 2H items with defensive stats.

Spell DPS stats (spell crit, spell dmg, spell hit, spell penetration, etc)
Mages, Warlocks, and Shadow priests will have priority on cloth gear, and elemental shaman will share priority on trinkets/rings/weapons.

Healing Stats (healing, mana regen)
All healing classes have equal priority, albeit favoring the appropriate armor type wearer (priest's have priority on cloth, druid's leather, and shaman's mail).

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: DKP? Zero-Sum? Huh? Can someone explain this to me?
A: Sure. Each item covered by DKP (see the rules) is worth some pre-determined number of points. When that item drops, the person with the highest amount of points who wants the item wins it. The item's value is then subtracted from their point total. Everyone on the raid then receives the item's value divided by the total number in the raid. Here's a quick example: Finkle's Lava Dredger drops from Majordomo. As this is a category 3 tier 1 epic, it costs 280 points. Joe has 190 points, and Bob has 240. Both want the item. Bob wins, and 280 is subtracted from his total giving him -40. Assuming we have a full raid, everyone (including Bob) is awarded 7 points. While deductions happen "at the time of the drop", it's important to keep in mind that it won't be recorded on the site until after the raid. While Bob's points would still show 240, he would really have -40 for the rest of the raid. Point additions are always added after the raid, not during.

Q: Do I need to register?
A: At this time, there is no need to register.

Q: I don't see my character listed on the standings page.
A: Once you attend a raid for the first time, you will be automatically entered. If you know you are in the system, you may be listed as inactive, see the next question.

Q: Why am I listed as inactive?
A: Anyone who hasn't been on a raid in 21 days will be moved to inactive. This has no effect on your ability to spend or earn points, it is simply a tool to help keep the member-list down to a manageable size for use during raids. Once you've attended a raid, you'll be moved back to active status. There is a link at the bottom of the listing to show all members, including inactive ones.

Q: There's an error in my point totals, or I was charged for an item I did not win.
A: Mistakes happen. Talk to an administrator and we should be able to get everything sorted out.
